Seit Kaskabasov’s academic school is remarkably extensive. Under his supervision, thirty-six PhD and Candidate of Science researchers were trained. Seit Askaruly produced numerous studies in folklore and literary scholarship. In total, he authored close to four hundred academic works, including twenty-two publications released under his direct authorship.

The 100-volume collection “Babalar sözi”, published within the national program “Mäдени мұра” (“Cultural Heritage”), as well as a twenty-volume set of works, demonstrate that Kaskabasov was not only a scholar but also a major organizer of academic life. In folklore studies, literary studies, and broadly in the humanities, as well as in shaping higher education and science in independent Kazakhstan, Seit Askaruly is considered one of the leading figures. His mentoring style was distinctive: he would not “show the way” step by step, but only indicate the direction—encouraging students to reach conclusions on their own, even when he already knew the outcome.
